Our Staff
We strive to attract and retain the best employees in order to give your child the highest quality care and most rewarding experiences while in our facility.
To help ensure the safety of your child, our staff are certified in first aid and CPR. The staff also participate in inservice training days in order to better serve the needs of your child.
Miss Kelly: Executive Director
Miss Kelly is married with two young children. She holds a BBA from Ohio University and an MBA from Ashland University. She has over 20 years of business experience. Miss Kelly has chosen to use this experience to start a learning center for young children. Brilliant Start Academy is designed around her belief that all children should be given the best possible start in life and be given the opportunity to learn while being cared for in a rewarding and enriching environment.
Miss Carolynn: Director
Miss Carolynn is married with four children ranging from middle school through college. She has a BS from Akron University and has attended the early childhood ecucation program at Cleveland State University. She has served as Vice-President on the PTA of her children's school and has been involved in various fundraising events.
Miss Katie: Curriculum Director
Miss Katie is married with two young children. She is a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio and holds a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Toledo. She has begun her Master of Art degree in curriculum and instruction through Ashland University.
Miss Jessica M.: Pre-K4/Kindergarten Teacher
Miss Jessica is married and the mother of a baby girl. She is a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio and holds a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashland University.
Miss Stephanie: Pre-K3 Teacher
Miss Stephanie is a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio and holds a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Union College.
Miss Melissa: Pre-K2 Teacher
Miss Melissa is a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio and holds a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Union College.
Miss Jamie: Pre-K1 Teacher
Miss Jamie is married and the mother of a baby girl. She is a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio and holds a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Ashland University.
Miss Carine: Toddler Teacher
Miss Carine has a Bachelor degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Bowling Green University.
Miss Lisa: Infant Teacher
Miss Lisa is married with one young child. She has an Associate degree in early childhood education.
Miss Cassie: Toddler Teacher
Miss Cassie is currently pursuing her associate degree in early childhood education.
Miss Autumn: Infant Teacher
Miss Autumn is currently pursuing an associate degree at LCCC.

Miss Mary has more than 15 years of childcare experience and is an education paraprofessional.
Miss Mercedes: Spanish Teacher
Miss Mercedes has more than 12 years of childcare experience. She is responsible for teaching our children Spanish each day.

The kids all love when Miss Bernie enters the classroom because they know she is bringing them lots of good things to eat.
